THE MOTION SYSTEM
BOND separates the cut into two guided movements. Plunge travel controls how far the bit enters the workpiece; lateral travel turns a round cutter path into a long, tenon-ready mortise.

LATERAL AXIS
Guide the router side to side to set the mortise length.
SET THE CUT
The movement is not only guided—it can be limited. Set the plunge depth and lateral travel before the cut, then carry the same mortise across matching parts.
DEPTH SETTING
Limit the plunge so repeated mortises stop at the same cutting depth.
LENGTH STOPS
Place the travel stops to define the left and right limits of the mortise.
THE PROOF
A dedicated loose-tenon joiner and BOND are built around the same outcome: a clean mortise ready for a floating tenon. BOND gets there with the trim router already in your workshop.
MORE THAN PANEL EDGES
Top-down mortising can make a tall dedicated joiner feel awkward. BOND lets the platform rest on the workpiece while the trim router stays in a familiar upright position.

DESIGNED THROUGH ITERATION
How should the carriage move? Where should the tool be supported? What makes the cut easier to control in real work? BOND evolved through repeated physical prototypes—each one testing movement, stability and usability before the final aluminum design.
